Global Market Summary

Markets showed mixed performance as investors positioned for upcoming FOMC decisions. The S&P 500 rose modestly by 0.8%, closing at 5,977, while the Nasdaq outperformed with a 1.3% gain, driven by tech momentum. The Dow Jones lagged slightly, down 0.4%.

Volatility increased, with the VIX climbing 11.7% to 20.06, reflecting investor caution.

Interest Rates & Fed Policy

Fed Funds Futures imply a gradual easing cycle:

  • Implied rate by December 2025: 3.83%

  • Current Effective Fed Funds Rate: 4.33%

  • 10-Year Treasury yield: 4.42%, slightly lower by 6 bps week-over-week

The market continues to price in rate cuts into 2026, with the Fed Dot Plot indicating a median projection of 3.875% by year-end 2025.


Commodities & Metals

A strong week for precious metals:

  • Gold surged to $3,416.58, up 5.4% on the week and 74.5% YoY

  • Silver climbed to $36.42, a 11.6% weekly jump

  • Oil bounced to $72.57, up 18.5% MoM amid Middle East supply risks

Copper-gold ratio analysis remains consistent with a stable yield environment.


Digital Assets: Bitcoin (BTC)

  • Current Price: ~$107,611 USD (intraday range: $104,601 – $107,732) 

  • 24‑Hour Performance: +1.9%, regaining the $106k–$107k levels 

  • Market Trend:

    • Stabilizing around $106k–$107k after recent volatility due to geopolitical uncertainties 

    • Analysts highlight renewed investor positioning in BTC options, with bullish short-term sentiment 

Sovereign Yields & FX

  • Germany: 10yr yield at 2.54%, down 4 bps

  • UK: 4.55%, steady despite inflation surprises

  • Japan: 1.40%, still sharply higher YoY as the BoJ shifts policy

  • USD strengthened against major currencies, with the Euro down 3.6% MoM and the JPY weakening by 1.1%
